They're excellent, and you're very fortunate. I think the top image is confusing with the background oryx's head directly behind the front one's left ear. Perhaps some judicious blurring ofr the second animal to fake a small DoF? The background bokeh is good.
Don't like the bottom photo as much. Not because there's a photographer in shot, but the image just looks 'flat'.
Number 7: The horns and ears leading down to the beast's face make some very prominent leading lines. Sharpening the eye highlights may have helped to make the picture 'pop'.
I do note a little chromatic aberration where horns meet sky, but that's only correctable in camera with an astonishingly expensive lens. There does remain the PS option.
Pity the sky is flat, brown and boring. Welcome to Dubai.
Yes all valid points and well done on the C&C. I also think the image isn't quite straight could do with a few degree's anti clock wise. Anybody else agree ?

Last on is only there because I'm in it.
ReplyDeleteAgree with the mixed heads, had one with more seperation but not as sharp.
Yes we were very lucky, as Napolean said "Don't give me good generals, give me lucky ones !".
Thanks for the C&C.

As I recently posted about C&C, can anybody spot the obvious comment on number 7 ?

Richard,
ReplyDeleteI thought the off-vertical oryx was because it was moving. You know, centrifugal force and all that. And by extension, the shot implies movement.
But is you wish to 'fess up to wonky camera-work... ;-)
