Bulidings - Richards Efforts

Hi All,

Firstly well done all those that have posted buildings, I promise to go through and add some abuse, sorry mean critique on the shots.
Got back yesterday morning and managed to start the huge pile of post process, the shutter bug buildings were, of course the first.

Here they are;

- Sydney Harbour Panorama
(Hope you can open okay, maybe double click if a problem.)
This is shot from just at the entrance our hotel, brilliant view. They are replacing some of the deck hangers on the bridge hence sadly it is not all it up.
EXIF :
Canon 350D, Sigma 10-20mm lens at about 15mm.
Manual, Set time at 30 sec then panned to manually meter the shot to find best aperture.
A graduated 3 stop Neutral density filter over the buildings to bring out the reflection.
About 8 shots in the original, stitched, corrected and tweaked in Photoshop.

- Sydney Opera House
Classic view of the opera house, nice to have clouds !
EXIF :
Canon 350D, Canon 28-300 IS L :-) at 28mm.
Av Mode f14, 1/125s, ISO 100.

- Buddhist Temple (Singapore)
Good location and shot a bunch, however this one met the "buildings" topic best.
Canon 350D, Canon 28-300 IS L :-) at 65mm.
Av Mode F8, 1/250, ISO 100.
Bit of a tweak on the sky in Photoshop if you look as it was very drab.

For those who actually read the EXIF you might notice new toy. I took the opportunity to do some planned shopping in Singapore.
Now the proud owner of a Canon 28-300 3.5-5.6 IS L a big white lens ;-)
Cracking optics and a big enough aperture to get some Bokeh but boy is it heavy.

Once I've finished all the Post on the rest of the photos I'll be sticking them on the WWW for comment and critique.

Cheers,
Richard B.

  1. The panorama of Sydney Harbour is stunning. You might like to try a trick I use for posting panoramas on the blog: rotate ACW through 90 degrees and post on the left. Text then forms a second column running to the right of the picture.

Singapore brings back some memories; I've not been there since late 1969.

  2. Thanks for the tip on posting, will repost.

As for Singapore, sorry to disappoint but it's gone all Dubai, not like the late 60's at all.

    Cheers,
    Richard B.
